Roddy was my 9th grade boyfriend who broke my heart when his family moved to Berkeley just before our sophomore year. One of my favorite memories is being at a party with him at Judie Roberts' house. He was telling me about this way of kissing, that he'd just heard of, called French kissing and convinced me to give it a reluctant try. Only problem was with every attempt we descended into giggle fits and couldn't stop laughing. Never did pull it off, but it sure was fun trying.
Over the high school and college years I saw him from time to time and knew him as a truly nice, kind, human being. It was such a tragedy that he died so young.
