Mike was a true friend!  Although I didn't know him well in high school, we met again on the Class of "60's Reunion Cruise to Alaska in 2005 and after that Pete and I stopped to visit Mike at his home in Flagstaff---or he came to our hotel---and we had dinner together each time we drove home from Texas.  He was a Southern Pacific Railroad Man through and through and loved to talk about his adventures on the railroad.

As I wrote in the letter to tell all of you about his death, he was a kind, caring, out-going man to everyone and the kind of person we all hope to be.

With your strong faith, I am sure you are in Heaven now without any more pain.  God bless you! I will miss you very, very much, my friend!

Ron and I also enjoyed getting to know Mike on the Alaska reunion cruise.  He was very kind and enjoyed sharing his experieces with the railroad.  It motivated us to even go to Portola, CA to drive an engine!!  Mike will be missed.

Mike played tuba in the Miramonte band...He was the right size and had the right attitude for a tuba player...enjoyed being the foundation and didn't need/command a lot of attention!  He often reminded me of our days together in band on facebook.  Music was a common bond as it is for many of us...the politics we can respectfully disagree about...(I hope)...With fond memories....

I have fond memories of our Alaska cruise when Mike, my husband Jon and I did several of the excursions together. It was great fun. He shared a lot about working for the Railroad. We didn't agree politically however politics come and go! Rest In Peace Mike. You will be remembered and missed!!
