Frank (Joe) Cayting - Class Of 1960

Sue Tharp Guerra received a call from Joe's wife, Jeanette, to report that Joe passed away at Sea Ranch on June 14, 2018.

In Loving Memory: Frank “Joe” Cayting III

Frank “Joe” Cayting, a resident of Sea Ranch, CA, previously of Los Banos passed away on June 14, 2018 at his residence in Sea Ranch, CA. He was 75 years old.

Joe was born November 26, 1942 in Oakland, CA, the son of Frank and Elbee Cayting.
Joe served in the Navy on the submarine U.S.S. Charr. After leaving the Navy, Joe attended Chico State where he received his teaching credentials. He settled in Los Banos teaching at Volta and Henry Miller Elementary schools. He ultimately retired after 31 years of teaching.
 
Joe was an avid fisherman and duck hunter. He spent countless days at his duck clubs, and his favorite fishing spots at west fork or on the Elk River in Montana, and most recently sharing his love for the outdoors with his grandson Justin. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
 
Joe is survived by his wife Jeanette Cayting, brother Andy Cayting, sisters; Dana Schneider and Diane Switzer, stepson Joseph Pugliese, stepdaughter Joanna Galindo, two grandchildren; Justin Merrell and Emily Woodland and many nephews, one niece and friends.
